Kongsvinger Lutheran Church Women (KLCW)
KLCW meets the first Thursday of each month, March through December at the Parish Hall. Our meeting time is 1:30 pm except for June through September when we meet at 6:30 pm. Our meeting includes a monthly Bible Study and a business meeting. We have three service work groups to prepare and serve food as needed.
Quilting is a large focus of our women’s group. The ‘Do-Days’ ladies meet at 9 am every Tuesday morning at the Parish Hall to cut, sew and tie many quilts that are given locally and also globally to Lutheran World Relief.
All are welcome to join this group of women.
Adult Bible Study is offered at specific times during the church year with all members welcome.
Prayer Ministry has a prayer chain to pray for people with concerns/needs. All are welcome to join the prayer chain. Contact the office to be added to the chain.
A Prayer Ministry group meets monthly for a time of reflection and prayer for those in need.
Cradle Roll Ministry
Baptized infants and toddlers are enrolled in Cradle Roll until they attend Sunday School.
Sunday School
Children from ages 4 through fifth grade meet at the Kongsvinger Parish Hall, Sundays at 10:30, for a time of instruction and singing. Special events are held throughout the year with their Adoptive Grandparents.
Element
Our youth from sixth through eighth grade are enrolled in Element. Element is a faith foundation group providing confirmation instructions. Element meets Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm at First Lutheran in Morris. Element is sponsored by five Christian Churches in Morris, Cyrus and Donnelly, directed by Heather Black.
Fusion Youth
Confirmed youth are encouraged to join the Fusion Youth Group, an extension of the Element program. Youth meet Wednesdays from 7-8:30 pm at First Lutheran in Morris and are involved with team building and service projects. Service trips are a rewarding part of this ministry.
Community residents are mailed an invitation to special services during the Christmas and Lenten seasons. Service times and locations are shared.
A Community Block Party is held during the summer. All community residents are invited to a picnic at the St. John’s lawn with a free-will donation that goes to the Stevens County Food Shelf. In addition to good food there is fellowship and games for all.
We are a member of the Luther Crest Bible Camp Corporation and support its mission with our mission dollars as well as financial support for our youth to attend camp.
