On September 20, 2026 Kongsvinger Lutheran Church celebrated 150 years of ministry.  The area was settled primarily by Norwegian immigrants, many of whom came from the Kongsvinger, Norway area.  The settlers first gathered on September 20, 1876 where Reverend C. Saugstad led them in prayer.  Nine days later, on September 29, 1876, the congregation officially organized.  In 1884 efforts began to build a church.  On November 1, 1906 the completed church was dedicated, and named in honor of their Norwegian homeland, Konsgvinger.

150 years later, Kongsvinger remains steadfast in its early roots of faith, family and fellowship.
